Missed it...
Just to say, that back at this time it seemed like the Dead were always playing St. Louis,(5 trips in 1970) so if you missed them once they'd be back again
...
before you know it. I went to the show the night before & had a beautiful time, the Truckin' & Other One from 10-29 was superb, so I did get my fix. But Quicksilver was in town on the 30th & I opted for that (a grate show too). Missed what sounds like a monumental night at Kiel. My friends were impressed. You win some, you lose some & some get rained out...

Real Deal @ Kiel
I picked this one out for a nostalgic look at my favorite venue back in the 70's. Kiel auditourium(b.1934d.1991)was a grand ole place and to see GD there

a few times was awesome. Unfortunately for me my first show at Kiel was in '74 and even more unfortune was the fact that it was to see a ragtag buncha misfits with names like Page,Plant,Jones&Bonham:( Oh well, I put up with it and left thoroughly disgusted;) After becoming a stagehand in '77 I spent countless hours at Kiel. This tops even the Miss Universe pageant there in '83, AMAZING! it was. (the GD show). 23 songs with superb sound too! 28 minute Dark Star that is phenomenal, followed by a very inspiring Stella that in my opinion rivals the 10/20/74 "The Movie" version. Playin' is phabulously phat! Eyes, Jack, Uncle, Row Jimmy,WRS/Let it grow,etc...all fantastic! Too much for me to fully critique right now as I must get to the task of finding and hogtieing those who failed to find and hogtie me and drag my 10/30/73 show missin' ass to this one! They shall be forced to listen to limey pop rock as I did, for appropriate punishment. I give it a 5 star rating (as Roger sneers at me with a disgusted look) but I'm easy, being I give all GD shows from '65-'95 a solid 10. Hey now! Rog' throws in two thumbs up! Nice! dig on this one! Peace 2 all! ^_^Turtle---
